our soap is a salt, not a detergent

merritt soap is made using the cold process method.  This means from a chemistry perspective our soap is actually a salt.  All other soap NOT made using the cold process method is considered a detergent.
detergent is harsh on your skin and cheap to make.  companies will add synthetic fillers and preservatives into their soap to force the detergent to hydrate your skin and have the soap last longer.

you need a soap saver

since our soap is a salt, it is ideal to be used in the shower/bath and not as hand soap by the sink.  the soap will get wet too many times.  if you don't already have one, you'll need a simple all wood soap saver to put your soap on.  this keeps the soap from sitting in water and dissolving.
